Mothers day, 2009
These are the words of Julia Ward Howe who started the current Mothers Day in America in 1870 by writing the now almost forgotten Mothers Day Proclamation. On this Hallmark day, I want to reclaim the original spirit of the day:
"Arise, then, women of this day!
Arise, all women who have hearts,
Whether our baptism be of water or of tears!"
